As Jesus taught His disciples, the process of planting seeds and yielding a harvest illustrates how the economy of the Kingdom functions. In agriculture, when a seed is planted in good soil and well tended, it yields a good harvest. The same is true in the spiritual realm. As we plant seeds in good, well-tended ground, we yield a good harvest. The harvest, in both agriculture and the Kingdom, is always proportionately larger than the seeds that produced it.

What is a good harvest in Kingdom terms? Often it is only talked about in terms of money but it is much more than that. A good harvest in the Kingdom yields blessing in every area of life: good health, good marriages, strong families, children who follow God, good jobs, favor with God, and favor with other people as well as material and financial blessings.

Again using agricultural terms, Jesus told us to look at the fruit it produces to determine whether a tree is good or bad. The same principle can be applied to judging whether or not ground is good for planting seeds.
